Media and Entertainment
The media and entertainment sector comprises those creative industries involved in broadcasting and publishing across various forms of media including print, internet, film, radio, and television. Apart from publishing and broadcasting, the sector also includes music and the performing and visual arts.
The Australian industry is constantly in a state of flux, grappling with changes to media ownership laws and other regulatory issues. Challenges for media companies include raising productivity while operating with a casualised, less secure workforce, responding to shifting customer preferences for accessing media (increasingly, mobile) and their expectations of immediacy and demands for higher quality.
